So I have two modern HVAC units each running two zones. I have had a really hard time getting my Honeywell TrueSteam units working reliably. They have each cost multiple hundreds of dollars in service and they are only on their fifth winter. Currently my upstairs unit has failed again and I'm sick and tired of getting it fixed.

I was thinking of shutting it off and getting a separate humidifier system for the upstairs. A unit that hooks up to plumbing and then just blows humid air independently of the HVAC. I figure that humid air would ultimately be drawn up and distributed anyway.

Any advice as to how to humidify the house? Any advice as to what unit to get? My attic space has a good amount of room and the existing HVAC and humidifier has plumbing up there. Did you have company put in the truesteam? Did you know truesteam is nearly top of the line in types of humidifiers? This is because they operate independently from the heat being needed and can turn on your furnace fan to distribute the steam the truesteam generates.
