Audio Dsp Software

Hey, Everyone I'm looking for the GSM 6.10/DSP Group TrueSpeech codec (which is included in Windows but for some reason is not installed on my system as far as I can tell) and instructions on how to install it in Windows 2000, SP4. How To Install Usb Cable In Ford Figo on this page. Or how to get it off the Windows 2000 installation CD and onto my system. There's plenty of help out here on the Internet for how to do it in Windows 95/98 but no clear instructions for Windows 2000 that I can find (well, they are clear but see below). What's happening is that I'm getting an error message when using the Audio Setup Wizard in Yahoo Messenger 6. It states, 'A compression module needed for voice chat is not installed on your system. Do you want to view the installation instructions?' And I'm sent to but the instructions for Windows 2000 do not match up with what happens in reality when I follow them so I can't complete the installation.

The help on the Microsoft site tells you how to do it but it misses some steps also (. For example, Microsoft says, '1. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

Click Next, click No, and then click Next. In my Control Panel, I only have 'Add/Remove Hardware' and in step #2, I click the first Next but the next screen only asks me to select 'Back', 'Next' or 'Cancel', not No. Gimme a break. I checked into the k-lite codec pac () which has the needed codec but researched it and someone on CNET said that it had spyware in it, so I didn't install it. Anywhere else on this planet that I could get the codec or anyone know of a good codec site?

Any help at this point is greatly appreciated. Ok, I found a solution that worked great for me. Here it is: tkeahi's suggestion at did it with the following modifications: Since I have Windows 2000, the files in the zip file he suggests you download, should go into Winnt/System32 but the two files, tsd32.dll & tssoft32.acm were already in there and newer, so I did not transfer them. I only moved the ts.reg file to there and right-clicked on it and selected 'Merge' (when using Windows Explorer). (I backed up my system first, just in case.) I then rebooted and the system saw a new audio device (which you will probably not see due to me accidentally installing an extra audio device earlier) and I just hit 'Cancel'. After the system was up, I went into Yahoo Messenger and ran the Audio Setup Wizard (under the Help menu) and it ran smoothly. I now have full voice capability through Yahoo Messenger.

Good luck to all.Sean.
