Just threw the consumer preview of windows 8 on an old desktop that was previously running 7, and now I can't get it to recognize my graphics card. It's just an integrated AMD chip, the Radeon X200. I found a copy of the legacy drivers for vista online and ran the installer in compatibility mode, but it won't install the drivers because windows will not pick up the card at all and this microsoft basic display adapter is all that shows up in device manager for display adapters. If need be I have a radeon x1650 pro PCIe card I can install, but would prefer to just get the integrated X200 chip working properly if possible. Right now the resolution is awful and anything that requires even the slightest bit of hardware acceleration runs like a dog. How can I fix this problem? Find the correct CCC for your chip, download it, and let it put the files in the default folder but DON'T install CCC.
